my first week back on the job

I’ve been getting used to drawing comics instead of painting this past week. Adjusting every drawing to a sequence/story is very different and I’m always so slow at it at first … my colleagues at the studio must think I’m lazy when I’m just sitting there chewing on a pencil. We did spend a whole day creating a nativity scene diorama though, it was great fun but turned out perhaps … less than orthodox. Picking up speed with the comics today though! Here’s some of what I’ve been doing (no text yet):

And these aren’t even coloured … I thought maybe next blog post I’d show the same snippets in colour.

Tomorrow all I’m going to do is hang out with my boyfriend, see a christmas exhibit of exotic plants at a greenhouse (I love going to things like that! Because of all the amazing smells and i love drawing plants… great shapes and inspiration). I’ll be spending the afternoon with a friend which means walking her giant beautiful dog, eating chocolate and inking my latest pages holed up in her super cozy room. My life sounds so wonderful when I put it like that. I should probably mention I’m broke… which only makes it a little less wonderful actually.
