Comixology, the digital comics site for ipad, iphone, android, etc now has my own book with NBM on it – The Story of Lee. Out this week, just in time for Xmas! You can download the digital version for only $7.99 (a mere snip, the paper one costs $11.99). It’s my first English language digital book, although I have one out already in Japanese. 150 pages, mature manga story, art by Chie Kutuswada. There is also a 12 page free preview there on Comixology, as a taster. Nice!

“Lee, living in Hong Kong, meets Matt, a fine young Scot. Their relationship becomes stronger by the day, despite their deep cultural differences. But there is Lee’s dad to contend with who views this affair very suspiciously. And there is another contender for Lee’s heart, a young Chinese man, whose jealousy takes on twinges of xenophobia. Will Lee and Matt’s relationship successfully cross the cultural divide and overcome the negative odds?”

I’d like to welcome Top Shelf to the 21st century and digital comics.

I find the hoopla around their announcement somewhat amusing especially as we’ve been there, done that for over two years now and have quite a nice library up on Comixology building for some time now! So declarations about being the first, well, Chris, I luv ya, but…

not exactly.

Check out our Comixology page here and the other choices we have.

We’re also working with our distributor IPG to get us available with e-tailers and providers beyond comics ones in the general realm of e-books. So, Libraries: Overdrive should have us already! And that’s just one.

End of bass drum beating.

“Recommended. The cultural tension is beautifuilly written, and the story is told well in the small moments between Lee and Matt.”

This weekend I’ll be making an appearance at the Kokomo Con.

This is a great little con with a lot of indie creators. It’s only the con’s second year, but it is a great time. I can’t speak too highly of it. I know the guys who put it together and it is well worth a few hours drive if you are in the Midwest and can make it. I’ll be there for most of the day and will be appearing on a panel at noon on the writing and publishing of comics!

For those that can’t make it, and I realize that will probably be the majority of you, I recently a couple podcasts interviews that were a whole lot of fun. We talked about a wide range of topics. The guys on the Bizarre Podcast are huge fans of The Broadcast and we spent a great deal of time talking about the making of that book. Then, over on the It’s All Up To You, I got a chance to discuss some of my other work too and the uphill battle of trying to make it in the comics industry. You can listen to either online at the above links or do a search and download them via iTunes. Both interviews are pretty long but well worth the time if you want a little behind-the-scenes glimpse.

Hope to see some of you this weekend!!
