SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
NOTE: We are not accepting submissions from authors outside of North America.
1) Please familiarize yourself with our company through our website or getting our catalog. We are most interested in literary fiction, non-fiction and biographies. We are not interested in superheroes. We have no need for illustrations alone including covers. We are also not set up to create teams, ie. match a writer with an artist or vice versa.
2) To submit please send a one-page synopsis of your story which will include any pertinent background and some character development. For the art, please send copies of a few finished pages or pencils for the project or at least of previous work in the same style you plan on using. Please do not at first send a complete finished story as that will only delay an answer greatly. To submit electronically: Send a low-resolution pdf of no more than 10 megs as attachment. You may submit a link to a website as an extra source but not by itself.
3) As people want to interact with the authors directly, we would appreciate knowing up front what you’re willing and able to do to help in creating buzz online around your graphic novel, including telling us what you may have already been doing.
Please email us at: tnantier at nbmpub.com
NBM is recognized as one the highest quality graphic novel publishing houses in America. It is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary and is currently distributed by Simon & Schuster. We launch maybe 1 new artist a year. We receive many submissions... To get an idea of the kind of quality we look for, see on our site the new artists we launched like Brooke Allen (A Home for Mr. Easter, Lumberjanes), Jesse Lonergan (All Star, Eisner Award winner) or TJ Kirsch (Pride of the Decent Man, Willie Nelson).
Thank you for your interest and we look forward to your submission!
